Pricing & Quotes
Our pricing is based on the driving distance between your pickup and delivery addresses. We use a tiered per-kilometre rate — the longer the distance, the lower the per-km rate. You can get an instant estimated quote on our quote page by entering your addresses.
The online quote is an estimated price based on driving distance. Every estimated quote is reviewed by the NorthPaws Team before booking is confirmed. If your route involves a ferry crossing, a remote location, or any special requirements, the final confirmed price may differ from the estimate.
Our minimum charge is $200 CAD. This applies to all transports regardless of distance. Taxes are not included in the estimate and will be added at the booking stage.
No. Our pricing is the same for dogs and cats. There is no breed surcharge and no size surcharge.
Booking Process
Start by requesting an estimated quote on our quote page. The NorthPaws Team will review your request and send you a confirmed quote within 4 business hours. Once you receive your confirmed quote, you can complete your journey reservation online. A 30% deposit secures your scheduled pickup date.
We recommend booking at least 5–7 days in advance for standard routes. For long-distance routes (over 1,500 km), we recommend 10–14 days advance notice. We do accept urgent bookings on a case-by-case basis.
Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the scheduled pickup receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations made 24–72 hours before pickup receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before pickup are non-refundable.

We carry a pet first-aid kit on every journey and maintain a network of partner veterinary clinics along all major Canadian corridors. If your pet requires emergency care, your Pet Travel Specialist will stop immediately at the nearest veterinary clinic.
No. Your pet is never left unattended in the vehicle. During rest stops and overnight breaks, your Pet Travel Specialist remains responsible for the pets at all times. This is one of our core commitments and part of The NorthPaws Promise.
Your Pet

Absolutely. We encourage you to send a familiar blanket, a worn piece of your clothing, or a favourite toy. Familiar scents significantly reduce travel anxiety. Please label all items with your pet’s name.
Long-Distance Transport
On multi-day journeys, your pet stays with their Pet Travel Specialist at all times — including overnight. We do not use kennels or boarding facilities during transport. Your pet remains in our care from welcome pickup to safe arrival.
Yes. Newfoundland transport requires a ferry crossing from North Sydney, NS to Port aux Basques, NL. The ferry fee is not included in the automated quote estimate and will be added to your confirmed quote.
A Montreal to Vancouver transport (approximately 4,500 km) typically takes 4–5 days of driving, including rest stops and overnight breaks. We will provide you with a detailed transport plan before you confirm your booking.
